When using multiple Bolt sets in close proximity, an absolute minimum of 20 centimeters / 8 inches is required between transmitter / TX and receiver / RX devices from different Bolt sets.
NOTE: This is different from the minimum recommended operating distance for a Bolt transmitter / TX and receiver / RX units that are paired together on the same set. For minimum distance recommendations on the same set please see this article.
While the absolute minimum is 20 centimeters / 8 inches, best practices from real world applications have demonstrated that a minimum of 0.61 meters / 2 feet is recommended, and a minimum distance of 1.5 meters / 5 feet is strongly recommended.
This minimum distance applies to:
- The distance between a Bolt transmitter / TX unit to another Bolt TX from a different set
- The distance between a Bolt receiver / RX unit to another Bolt RX from a different set
- The distance between a Bolt TX and a Bolt RX that are not paired together and are from different sets
A general rule of thumb when using RF transmitting/receiving devices (audio, video, etc.) in close proximity is that the greater the separation between devices, the better the chances of operation without interference.
