If you want to avoid having to log into Facebook to stream or aren’t an administrator for a group or page, you can stream to Facebook via Airmix’s RTMP(s) destination.
You or a page/group administrator will need to create a Facebook Live event from the Facebook website.
Please refer to our tutorial on how to set an RTMP destination in Airmix with the RTMP URL and Stream Key you will find through his tutorial.
First log into Facebook from a web browser, NOT the Facebook app.
If you’re on Safari for iPad, before logging in, make sure you are on the desktop website. By tapping the view options in the address bar and tap Request Desktop Website if the option shows up.
If you see Request Mobile Website instead, you’re already on the desktop version of the website.
Once logged in, under the field for creating a new post, click on Live Video
You will be brought to the Facebook Live settings page.
You can choose to Go Live Now or Schedule a Live Video.
You can also choose to share to your personal Timeline, or share to a Page or Group you have permission to live stream to.
We will stream to a group in this demonstration.
Choose your Title and Description.
If streaming to your timeline, you will also be able to choose your privacy setting.
Make sure on the right panel that the Stream Setup tab is selected.
This is where you choose how you get your video to the live stream
Click on Use Stream Key.
Below, toggle the Use a Persistent Stream Key if you want to quickly use the same key to live stream each time.
This is useful for those who want to stream repeatedly to the same destination.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will find your URL and Stream Key.
If on your iPad, you can easily tap the Copy buttons next to each to easily paste it into the respective fields in Airmix.
