VidiU Go has a built-in web server that allows the configuration of all settings through its Web User Interface (Web UI). The Web UI can be accessed from a computer (Mac, Windows, or Linux system), tablet, or any phone with a web browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari). The device you use must be on the same network as VidiU Go.
NOTE: Some wireless networks isolate connections so that while you may receive Internet access, you can't connect to other local devices on the same network.
This type of behavior -- called AP/access point isolation, client isolation, or wireless isolation -- is often seen at hotels, coffee shops, or the guest networks provided by businesses, or on mobile broadband wireless hotspots that provide a separate guest network.
To access the Web UI, you first need to connect your device to the same network as the VidiU. Then, you simply enter the IP address of the VidiU into the web browser on your device.
The IP address is located by using the VidiU's Front Panel with the below instructions:
Wireless connection (WiFi)
- Using the Menu navigation button, navigate to the Network Settings menu, then select WiFi.
- Select a mode:
- Access Point Mode (AP) - a wireless network is generated by VidiU Go
- Client Mode - VidiU Go scans for any available wireless networks to connect to.
- Once a connection is established, tap the [Info] button to reveal the IP address.
- Enter the IP address into the web browser's navigation field.
NOTE: There is no Internet access for the VidiU Go in Access Point (AP) mode, it is an isolated Wi-Fi network that allows access between the VidiU Go and devices on the same Wi-Fi network generated by the VidiU Go. Network access is not bridged between the Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections on the VidiU Go, so devices connected to the VidiU Go in AP mode will not receive network access through the VidiU Go's Ethernet port.
Wired connection (Ethernet)
- Plug an Ethernet cable from VidiU Go's Ethernet port to an Ethernet switch or router.
- Using the Menu navigation button, navigate to the Network Settings menu, then select Wired.
- Once a connection is established, tap the [Info] button to reveal the IP address.
- Enter the IP address into the web browser's navigation field.
