The VidiU product line is intended as a consumer-level device with limited streaming functionality compared to Teradek's professional line of encoders (e.g. the Cube, Bond, Slice, T-RAX, Prism, etc.).
An overview of the VidiU Go and a comparison to the professional level encoders is available on the main Teradek website at this link.
Standalone
Only two streaming protocols are supported by the VidiU Go when used as a standalone encoder:
RTMP / RTMPS: The VidiU Go acts as a client to push out an RTMP or RTMPS (RTMP over a TLS/SSL) stream to a CDN or streaming media server. Note that the VidiU Go only functions as an RTMP / RTMPS client and does not act as a server to allow other software or hardware clients to pull RTMP or RTMPS streams directly from the VidiU Go.
Live:Air: The VidiU product line can also act as a source to stream to the Teradek Live:Air and Live:Air Solo apps for iOS.
Other streaming protocols such as RTP/RTSP, MPEG Transport Stream, SRT, Teradek Streaming, or Zixi are not supported on the VidiU Go.
Sharelink
When streaming with Teradek's Sharelink service, the VidiU Go can send out RTMP or RTMPS streams.
Core
When used with Teradek's Core service, the VidiU Go has limited functionality compared to Teradek's professional level encoders, and Core will only allow RTMP or RTMPS streaming destinations to be directly associated to the VidiU Go.
