The original Node and Node for VidiU Go modems are designed and intended for use with Teradek products, and are only supported by Teradek in that specific capacity.
No guarantee of compatibility is provided for the Node with third party products such as macOS / Mac, Windows, or Linux-based systems, or with devices such as routers.
However, some customers have reported successful use of the Node with third party products in their setup.
Although Teradek cannot assist with configuration, operation or troubleshooting of the Node with third party systems or devices, we are providing this information as a convenience, and without any endorsement or suitability for a specific purpose.
macOS / Mac
One customer reported using recent versions of macOS with the Node.
No specific driver was required in their setup for the system to recognize the Node as a network connection.
Other customers have reported success using the third party HoRNDIS driver for macOS.
Windows
Several customers have reported that Windows 10 recognized the Node on their system.
No specific driver was required in their setup for the system to recognize the Node as a network connection.
Third party routers
One customer reported using the Proxicast PocketPORT 2 with a Node in the following setup:
- The PocketPORT 2 must be configured to NAT mode, and the default IP address range used by the PocketPORT must be changed since it will conflict with the 192.168.1.x range assigned by the Node
- The PocketPORT must be configured to use the Node as an "RNDIS" type of modem.
