CAUTION: Using Sphere with Power over Ethernet / PoE devices

CAUTION
  1. DO NOT connect a Power over Ethernet (PoE) source to the Sphere's PoE Ethernet port (G) and turn Sphere's PoE power switch (B) to the ON position. This can can damage the Sphere and/or the PoE source.
  2. DO NOT connect an incompatible device to the Sphere's PoE Ethernet port (G) and turn the Sphere's PoE power switch (B) to the ON position. This can damage incompatible devices.
  3. DO NOT connect the PoE Ethernet port (G) from one Sphere to the PoE Ethernet port (G) on a second Sphere when the PoE switch (B) is set to the ON position on either device. This can damage one or both devices.
  4. This damage is not covered under warranty

 

ALWAYS leave Sphere's PoE power switch (B) set to the OFF position if you are not using it to power a compatible PoE device, or if you are unsure of the equipment specifications.

 

PoE Power Input - NOT SUPPORTED

The Sphere can only be powered over its LEMO power input, as described in this article.

The Sphere DOES NOT does not support being powered by PoE sources such as a PoE-capable Ethernet switch or the PoE output from a second Sphere on any of the Sphere's Ethernet ports. 

 

PoE Power Output

The Sphere can only output power on its PoE Ethernet port (G) to a compatible PoE device.
