Minimum
The Bolt transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) should be separated by at least 10 to 15 feet / 3 to 4.5 meters, with clear line of site between them.
Using the TX and RX at shorter distances may cause interference between the devices.
Maximum
The Bolt TX and RX can attain up to the following maximum distance (dependent on environmental conditions and other sources of interference).
1st generation
Bolt Standard / Bolt Pro : up to 300 feet / 91.4 meters
Bolt Pro 2000 : up to 2000 feet / 609.6 meters
2nd generation
Bolt Pro 300 : up to 300 feet / 91.4 meters
Bolt Pro 600 : up to 600 feet / 182.9 meters
Bolt Pro 2000 : up to 2000 feet / 609.6 meters
3rd generation
Bolt 500 : up to 500 feet / 152.4 meters
Bolt 1000 : up to 1000 feet / 304.8 meters
Bolt 3000 : up to 3000 feet / 914.4 meters
NOTE: the use of external / directional antennas cannot increase the range on the Bolt -- they are always limited to the maximum distance of the model. This limitation is built into the wireless chipset by the wireless module manufacturer, and is outside of Teradek's control.
