A COLR or COLR Duo unit can be connected directly to a Mac or Windows system using the built-in USB connection, as described on page 7 of the COLR Operation Guide.
This allows an emulated Ethernet interface for the computer over the COLR's USB connection, and the COLR is accessible at the default IP address of 192.168.100.1.
This default configuration works when just a single COLR unit is connected to the system.
If you wish to have multiple COLR or COLR Duo units connected simultaneously over USB to the same computer, you must change the network IP address range used by each COLR so that it doesn't conflict with the other COLR units.
Simply changing the COLR's individual IP address while keeping the network range the same will not work and you will not be able to access all COLR units that are connected simultaneously.
As an example configuration, you can set the USB IP address range to the following for a setup with (3) COLR units.
NOTE: this assumes that your computer does not have existing connections or configurations to networks in that same range; if you're already using a network in that range, choose different address ranges to assign to the COLR.
- COLR 1: 192.168.100.1 (factory default)
- COLR 2: 192.168.101.1
- COLR 3: 192.168.102.1
Step 1. Configure the new IP address setting in the Web UI of the second and third COLR units.
Step 2: Unplug the USB cable between the computer system and the COLR units.
Step 3. Reconnect the USB cable between the computer system and the COLR units to allow a new IP address assignment to take effect on your computer system.
