Teradek devices with an NDI license will generate an NDI-HX stream. Make sure your device or software is compatible with NDI-HX.
What devices are compatible with the NDI license?
Cube 705, Cube 755, and Slice 756.
What firmware version is compatible with the NDI License?
Firmware 8.2.13 and later supports NDI.
Can I decrease the delay?
Yes, to decrease the delay of your NDI stream you can lower the “Look Ahead Frames” value under the encoder settings to a minimum of 0. Please note that lowering this setting will slightly reduce the overall video quality.
Can I stream to Core while using NDI?
No, both streams (primary and quickview) are used for the local NDI stream, so we cannot send an additional stream to Core.
Is IFB supported when using NDI?
No, IFB on the Cube is not compatible with NDI streaming.
Does the Cube support a tally signal?
No, the Cube does not support a tally signal via NDI.
NDI H264 and HEVC/H265 compatibility
When using the NDI protocol and HEVC compression, you might experience decoding problems, and those will vary depending on what decoder or switcher you are using. Here a table of encoding compressions and compatibilities that we have tested locally:
Destination/Codec | H.264 | HEVC (H.265) | Notes |

For HEVC on Windows, you'll need to follow these instructions per Newtek. We have had mixed results depending on the configuration of the computer and can't guarantee that HEVC will work on a Windows-based computer. In some instances, we’ve seen vMix been able to play HEVC while NDI Studio Monitor will not play it, both running on the same computer. |
