Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) values can be specified for networks setups which are configured to use Quality of Service (QOS).
DSCP values can only be configured when the encoder is in the RTMP or MPEG Transport Stream modes -- no other streaming protocols allow DSCP configuration.
The DSCP value is configured in the Web User Interface of the device, and is specified in decimal format.
For example, a DSCP setting of 32 in the encoder's Web UI would show a DSCP value of CS4
in a network capture of the stream.
Similarly, setting the DSCP value to 8 would show CS1
in a packet capture, a value of 28 would show AF32
, and a value of 46 would show EF
.
Please consult with your network administration team on what DSCP value -- if any -- should be specified on your encoder.
