Using longer cables between the Bolt TX / RX and external antennas

While it's possible to use longer cables between external antennas (e.g. antenna array, directional panel antennas) and the Bolt transmitter or receiver, it's not necessarily recommended as there will be loss associated with the type of cable used and the length of the cable run.

Teradek cannot make specific recommendations on cabling or indicate the maximum possible length that can be used as it depends on a number of factors, but you can generally assume between 6 to 10 dB of loss per 100 feet of cable.

For best results, use high quality / branded cables that are listed as "low loss" and rated for 6 GHz frequencies.
